Puka (like a puka shell) was born with a cleft lip. We found her on a bus stop bench wearing a bow tie in Los Angeles when she was a tiny puppy. We will never know who left her there, but she stole our hearts the moment we met.
Recently we were at Paper or Plastik cafe on Pico, when a young lady told me about a site called Pet of the Day. She suggested I submit Puka's photos. Puka, as you can see, is a remarkably patient girl, and poses for photos no matter what silly things I subject her to! She does accept bribes, which may have something to do with it.
She is sweet, and even gets along with her tortoise sibling, though at first she could not figure out what it was; she seemed confused a "rock" would start walking on its own! She is silly, wiggly when happy, funny, and makes us smile every day with that little crooked grin. We adore our little Puka pup.
