Hi! My name is Dally (Dallas, but they call me Dally)! I live in Arkansas, and I have a story I think is interesting. A really nice lady got me when I was just six weeks old. My mom's humans were giving me and my siblings away in a Walmart parking lot, and this lady saw us and picked me because all of my siblings were solid colored and I was the prettiest. She took me home to her daughter and son-in-law, and that's where I stayed for a while, and the nice lady named me Oakley. The son-in-law's sister came over when I was almost 10 weeks old, and I fell in love with her, and she just loved me. My new humans realized I was a perfect fit for her, so she ended up becoming my human. She renamed me Dally after Dallas Winston from The Outsiders. I absolutely love being with my human. She says I'm a purebred derpy dog because I'm so goofy.
I know a lot of stuff. I know how to sit, shake, stay, give hugs and kisses, get in the van, sit in my seat in the van, wait, cuddle on command, and even guard the van. I love it so much when my human puts the window down just enough for some good air gets in, and I'll glue my nose to the crack in the window to get all the good sniffs.
My human says I have a good heart and a good soul and a good sense of who's good and who's bad, and she completely trusts me to let her know who's no good. I save barking for emergencies, and even though I'm 65 pounds, I sound like I'm 100 pounds. I've always had a scary big dog bark. Some people are afraid of me because I'm solid and look like a gray Rottweiler. If they're good people, I'm not afraid of them, and I just want to sniff them and get the scratches.
My human's old dog was what she calls half-quarter-quarter - the mom was purebred and the dad's parents were purebred but different breeds. I'm half-quarter-quarter, too. My mom is an American black lab and my dad is half Rottweiler and half Catahoula, so I'm half lab, quarter Rottweiler, and quarter Catahoula. My human says that just because I'm part Catahoula Hog Dog doesn't mean I'm allowed to be a blanket, pillow or bed hog. Don't blame me! Pillows are so comfortable! And I love stealing my human's spot when she gets up because it's so warm and I love it. She calls me spoiled rotten, I call it heaven.
There's a two-year-old boy that just loves me. He'll come give me hugs and lay on me and I give him kisses, and he calls me Buddy. He's my little buddy.
