Sadie
is our first Chesapeake Bay Retriever. Her parents are gun dogs with
master passes and senior titles. Sadie is tenacious but a real sweetheart.
She is one of the most loyal dogs we have ever owned. Although we don't hunt
her, she has plenty of access to water for retrieving at the pool, beach or
creek. Chessies are our choice of breed for life!
My Sadie is quite a character. By bringing her to work with me since she was
a puppy, she was socialized early on so she loves people and other dogs.
Sometimes she is such a goofball but, when she is in retrieving mode she is
no nonsense and totally focused. She is very intelligent and senses our
feelings and what we need at times. Her favorite game is playing "Find It"
with treats hidden in our yard or house and Hide N Seek with us. She is a
real snuggle bug but can be headstrong and independent. She is extremely
vocal with her roo, roo, roos when she wants something or if her ball rolls
under the sofa. Chessies do require lots of exercise so daily walks are a
must and teaching different tricks keeps her mind occupied is a daily must as well.
