This
dog has lots of personality! He sighs if he doesn't get his way, he
taunts you when he wants to play by putting toys by your hands then running
away to prompt you to chase him, and charms everyone who comes through the
door or meets for the first time.
He's our first Corgi and my first dog actually. My husband grew up with dogs,
but he's my first little one! We decided to get a Corgi because our friend
had one named Jackson, who was very sweet and docile. Funny that Barney ended
up having a completely different energy level, but we love that about him.
Barney is definitely an independent dog because of what he was bred to do
(herding), but with age he's gotten sweeter and more affectionate. When I get
home, his tail goes crazy, his ears go back and he jumps on me to give me
kisses. He also loves to lay by our feet when we're watching TV or under my desk.
He also loves to be outside and be around other dogs. If he hears a dog
outside, he'll go crazy trying to get to it and cry if he can't. Being chased
is also his favorite game and wow, that dog can run!
