Muran is my first Yellow Lab. Before him, I had only German Shepherds and had thought that they were the smartest breed. With this breed I have now changed my mind.
Eight years ago, when we bought our house in the Staten Island with huge backyard, we decided to get a dog. Together with my younger son, we found a good breeder in Pennsylvania (130 miles from our location. His first name (that breeder gave him) was 'Five Stars.' He was the best puppy from his eight brothers and sisters. The breeder's children were crying when we chose him, but we assured them he would be in a great home, and we would take good care of him.
There was much discussion and no agreement about his new name, so I we decided to call him Muran, and it stuck. (At this time we had Nissan Murano car). From the start, Muran was fantastically teachable. and learned fast. At the beginning I was in doubt, but today I'm sure that he understands our English, Russian and Ukrainian.
He is an amazing friend, likes children and, well, everyone (but he does get very jealous). The last picture is of him watching television
with my grandson, Steven. He is just our baby that never grows up. He likes to swim and even dive,
so living on an island suits him, and he can play whole day. He is unbelievably smart and friendly, and we love him!
