Bardee is a young black and tan kelpie, whom we got as a rescue back in November when our other dog passed away unexpectedly. He was surrended to the shelter by his owners, and then put into foster care where we found him! Bardee was very shy when we got him five months ago; he hid his tail in between his legs, was very hyper-vigilant and was very jumpy at loud noises or big movements.
After months of training and rehab for Bardee, he is now in training to be a PTSD service dog. He really came out of his shell and went from a skinny (almost skeletal) kelpie who didn't like humans very much, to a loving dog whose hobbies include - squishing people, chasing hares, herding sheep and sleeping with his owner, Chloe.
He's a bit of a goof at times, especially in the morning when he has all his energy built up. He'll make fun faces and roll around, and he'll try use the pillow as a chew toy! But for the rest of the day, he enjoys sleeping in his comfy faux fur bed, running around, and refining his skills while we wait for his training vest.
I couldn't ask for a better dog!
