This
is Pennie Annalisa. Pennie means weaver, and Annalisa means blessed with
God's bounty. Personally, I think I'm the one that's blessed. She's part
Border Collie and part German Shepherd. She lives in Lady Lake, Florida, with me
and two cats, Snagglepoose and Sugar Pop. I got Pennie on July 27, 2012. I
saw her picture on Facebook. She was in a shelter in Georgia and was open for
adoption. It's been three years since I lost my dog, Kornflake, to cancer. It
was time for another dog! My cousin and some friends (that I've never met,
online friends) helped me come up with the money to get her to me. She was two
years old at the time. In September, I brought her to my vet for a checkup
and they found that she had full-blown heartworm.
In the six months that followed, I had to keep her calm for the treatments to
work!! Not an easy task considering the Border Collie is a very active dog,
and the German Shepherd side of her is, too! But it worked! In March, 2013,
she was declared heartworm free!! She's not a good "subject" when it comes to
the camera! She seems to know when the flash is gonna go off and moves,
blinks or does something silly! But at least I got a few good ones!
She's an active, happy girl now and everyone loves her ... but not nearly as much as I do!
