This
is Reno Reno Buddy (Reno for short).
Reno was a stray picked up by our local animal control kill shelter. My
fiance and I were looking for a puppy to keep our wolfdog company, and from
the moment we saw him, we knew he was coming home with us. The workers there
told us that he was a real sweetheart, but unfortunately no one wanted him
because he was mainly black, and black dogs were the most commonly
euthanized. There was no way we'd let him be euthanized, so we ended up
adopting him on the spot. From the moment they took him out of his kennel, he
jumped up on us and gave us kisses and wagged an overly enthusiastic tail. As
soon as he arrived at his new home, he automatically made friends with our
other two dogs, and he fit in perfectly with the family.
Since we adopted Reno, all of our lives have been touched by his loving
heart. He's the first hound dog we've ever owned, and before we walked in the
shelter that day, we were not even considering adopting a black and tan coon
hound. We thought a shepherd type breed would be best for our wolfdog, but it
turns out that Reno was the absolute perfect fit. His coon hound nature makes
him extremely courageous, which fits well with our very cautious wolfdog.
Thanks to him, she is feeling more confident, and he encourages her to try
new tricks such as jumping on barrels that she would not even approach
beforehand. He is just so full of love, and he loves to be a lap puppy
despite the fact that he's outgrowing our laps, and he also loves to cuddle
in bed and fall asleep in my arms. He loves to give kisses, and his tail is
always wagging. Reno has brought our family closer together with his loving
heart, and I don't know what I'd do without my little sidekick today.
