To
me, March 20, 2008 is the unforgettable date. My heart was beating
out of my chest and I was absolutely mixed and muddled till I got the
good news, advising me that my pup's plane had touched down safely.
I went to see him with my mom. She was freaking out and she was not
really excited to meet him, but that did not last long ... she loved him
and became very attached to him once he stared at her eyes and lapped up
her hand, and so I did.
Nitro turned five last month. He is very adventurous yet he is mainly a
Siberian Husky, and when he is tired he just flops. He is so funny when
he sleeps on his back with his legs up in the air! He is frisky when I
want to play ... and you are very cuddly Nitro!
Oh, Nitro, he is balky and stubborn, but so sweet. He will do absolutely
anything we ask of him. Nitro loves being the center of attention, loves
meeting new people, loves going new places. He is completely and utterly
fearless. I truly feel like I know this guy inside and out, to the point
where I can predict his behavior and reactions, and, thus I can speak
for him. I expect him to do what I ask, but I love him unconditionally,
and do everything I can to ensure he is the happiest and healthiest dog
possible. He respects me, but occasionally does things just to push my
buttons or to see what he can get away with.
I have had other pets in my life, but the way I loved them all pale in
comparison for the deep deep love I have for my Nitro! I feel we are a
team ... we just speak different languages.
He takes pleasure in sniffing about my room corners when he has nothing
particular to do. He is as docile as a deer in my dad's presence,
because Nitro and my dad are not really getting along together.
Nitro loves food. He is not fussy at all. He eats everything, though his
favorite is lasagne, haha! When we are at our table, Nitro keeps company
with me, but he shows no eagerness to touch even a crumb unless offered.
Nitro cries in a particular way. It is between barking and howling. Yes,
he is a Siberian Husky! Sometimes he raises a cry like moaning. That
means he wants to go out for his toilet.
Since he joined us as a puppy, Nitro has learnt quite a few tricks. He
can shake hands, sit, jump and fetch things that I tell him to. Every
morning, Nitro wakes me up by smothering me with wet licks. He is my
constant companion, whether I am Jogging, playing tennis, watching
television or sleeping.
With Nitro, I strongly believe in the saying "dogs are miracles with paws."
