This
is Hiccup and he wants to say hello!<3 We say he is a Chiweenie/Maltese
mix - one parent was a Chihuahua/Dachshund and the other was a Maltese. His
mother was the mix, and his dad is the Maltese, they are both owned by our
neighbors. They noticed that the mother, Willow, was pregnant, and told me
(because I'd been dying for a puppy). And since then, I'd go over and cuddle
Willow so she'd know her baby would be safe with me. Once he was born (on the
eve of October 27th) I made haste to see my baby (which I previously stated
to them that I wanted the runt, they always had the best personalities), and
when I saw him, without even being told, I knew which one I was taking home
with me in eight weeks. He is just eight months old now, but probably is as big as
he's gonna get!
I knew from the start his name would either be Hiccup, or a character from a
japanese anime (Shigure) because he was a dog and I loved his personality.
Hiccup, as I'm sure you know, is from the movie How to Train your Dragon? I
loved that character as well, and after spending time with him I realized
that would be his name because he fits that characters description well.
He's quite the independent type, he tends to roam around the neighborhood a
lot, but always comes when he's called. He's not learned many tricks besides
stay, speak, and to get on his hind legs for a treat. Hiccups a great family
dog, but is very protective, even though he's five pounds and only half a foot tall.
He loooves to fetch, he learned to bring the ball/stick/item back by watching
our other dog, Jake (brown Labrador Retriever) do it. He has lots of energy
and is just a fun sweet pup!
