This
little guy is named Diego. He is an Australian Shepherd and still
growing (wohoo hitting puberty right now). He is a very balanced dog. He
doesn't even bark or growl. He only barks if you don't play with him!
He came to us on 26 October 2012, it was a very foggy day and it started to
snow while we were driving home. Ooh, Diego doesn't like the car very much.
You just have to open the door and he starts drooling. It flows out of him
like water. Hopefully he'll grow out of that.
For a few days at a time, he is allowed to practice agility a little. We
bought him adjustable hurdles. He seems to have a lot of fun, especially
when earning the treats. I wonder how he will look like when he is mature.
Right now his fur is growing and sticks out everywhere; it looks kind of funny.
Diego gets along well with other dogs. But he meets mostly old dogs that
don't want to play with him, so he just jumps around them and whimpers. The
most dogs are growling when Diego gets to intrusive. Mostly he respects it.
It seems like Diego just likes every dog around him. He doesn't bark or
growl when he sees one. He just want to play, always. That's only a problem
for the one who is holding his leash. The force of 20Kg against a human can
be very heavy and sometimes a bit painful. So we started to train him not
to run at every dog without permission. He's a smart dog and learns very
fast, but he still pulls very hard on the leash as soon as another dog is
passing us. Well, he will learn it soon enough. He still is a little pup
and just want to explore everything. We love him anyway, even if he can
sometimes be a little wild.
