This
is Charley, she's a schnoodle. Part schnauzer, part poodle, as best we
can tell, and a rescue from Georgia. The wonderful rescue transport groups
helped get her to us and she now lives in Philadelphia with Roger, another
rescue, who is all poodle, and of course, her humans. Roger and Charley look
very much alike, and people often think they're related, but we tell them,
only by adoption! Charley doesn't think much of her costume, you can see, but
she makes the kids so happy when we sit on the front stoop with her and
Roger, handing out candy!
Halloween is very special on our block. There's a parade that starts at the
corner of our street and kids come from all over for it. Then they spread out
en masse to trick or treat, so we have upwards of 500 kids. We sit on our
stoop with the bowl of candy as they line up down our walk! Of course our
pups must join in the festivities. But as you can see from her stance,
Charley is not all that pleased with her chicken costume! But she's a love.
She is fifteen stocky pounds (6.8 kg) of fuzzy sweetness!
