Odin
was found as a stray, though technically he did the finding. He walked
into a co- worker/friend's house last October and made himself comfortable on
her couch. She brought him into the store where we work as groomers. He was
completely brown with dirt, had no collar or microchip. We spent a week
looking for his owners but no one came forward to claim him. It was soon
discovered Odin was completely deaf. People seemed interested in taking him
but no one jumped the gun. Fearing a deaf bully breed's chance of survival in
the county pound broke my heart. I cried to my boyfriend for a few days
before he said we could take him.
As it turns out Odin is one of the best behaved, mellowest dogs I have ever
met. He's taking well to sign language and mostly enjoys napping and meeting
people. He's the first bully breed I've owned and I find myself completely in
love with having one! Some people are hesitant about approaching him because
of his intimidating look but the people who've taken a chance to ask to pet
him have always commented on what a sweet dog he is. He loves children and
other animals; particularly our cat, Frank. He even is good at getting
groomed and loves getting his nails dremeled down.
I'm proud to own Odin and have him used as an example for why bully breeds shouldn't be lumped into the dangerous and deadly category. We just love him.
