Stella came to me from a family who couldn't give
her the CONSISTENT care she (and every dog) needs. When I had to say
good-bye to my last dog, a chocolate lab who lived to be 15, I knew the
next dog needed to be smaller. In 10 years I will not be able to lift
and help a 70-pound dog up and down like I did with Lilly. I decided on
a Boston Terrier, (smaller, but not too small, not "yappy") and I needed
to adopt an adult.
It was hard to wait, but when the time was right Stella appeared. It's been 11 months and we have had a good time learning and growing and bonding. When she gets up from a nap she likes to do "doggie yoga". That's what it looks like, but she is really rubbing her belly on the rug. Her bark is more like a frog croaking. She bounces when she runs! I love her soft fur and her black and white tuxedo coloring.
Stella will do almost ANYTHING for a treat, which is really just her kibble because she has allergies to wheat and grains. She can sit, speak, shake a paw, rollover, beg and play dead when you point at her and say "bang". She is playful and sweet. She makes a nest out of the bed covers and completely covers herself up when she goes to bed. I love her doggie kisses when I come home and her eagerness to sit so I can leash her up for our walks! She has been a GREAT addition to my life and thinking about her puts a smile on my face each day.
