I would like to introduce our male Airedale Terrier Zoro. He lives with us in Tacoma, Washington.
Part of Zoro's specialness comes from the fact that he is an Airedale - a four-legged fur ball of contradictory assets and liabilities: handsome/silly looking; strong-willed but wants to please; Wise terrier King and goofy court jester; very good with kids/but squirrels, rats and other critters' worst nightmare, and the list could go on.
How does Zoro stand out from the other Airedales we've owned in the last 30+ years? Well, he's by far the largest - about three inches higher at the withers and about 20 pounds heavier than breed standard. Secondly, he is the goofiest one we've had, which is highly entertaining. Thirdly, Zoro takes a behavior that all Airedales indulge in to some degree and has made his life's mission statement - digging! He is a four-footed canine backhoe! Our back yard looks like it was carpet bombed by B-17s. On the plus side, we have absolutely no problem with moles!
But all this above is just commentary - the real reason Zoro is special to our family is that we love him and he loves us right back with that unconditional zeal that only a human's best friend can muster!
