Pao is kind and playful and curious. He is full of love. He is my first dog and I feel like the luckiest man in the world. He is a Pug mix and mystery (seriously don't know what his other breed might be).
I decided to get him because I had two cats, one for 17 years and one, her sister, for 19 years. Once the second one had passed away, I decided that one day I would get a dog. It took me two years but eventually I made my decision and Pao came into my life. He has a great temper. He never barks except for two reasons: if the evil vacuum cleaner is on, or if we're at the dog park and the other dogs aren't playing with him. He never barks out of anger, just to say "Hey come play with meeeee".
Pao loves humans and is very trusting and very excited whenever he meets a new one. He loves when we play together at home but he has also learned to play by himself. We have a red rubber rooster and it's his favourite toy. He'll bring it to me in his mouth and we'll play tug of war or I'll throw it across the apartment so he can go get it. In the apartment I can throw anything and he'll go get it but not at the dog park. He doesn't chase balls or fetch sticks outside yet. I hope eventually he does but it's also not really a big deal at all. He can sit and lie down but only if things are calm (or we're inside). Outside, with distractions, the little rascal ignores my commands and struts around like the king of the world. I am working on that. Perhaps if I convince him they are not commands, but advice he can't ignore. HE is affectionate but he gets warm fast so the affection only lasts so long (never long enough!) and then he'll go find his favorite spot in the apartment and enjoy the cool wooden floor.
