Harley is a sweetheart, through and through. He always has a friendly lick for anyone who's sad, and he loves tummy rubs. When he's content, he'll let you know it with a pleasant snort. Harley is also extremely intelligent and empathetic. He seems to always know when someone is talking about him, and he can tell the difference between McDonald's and any other kind of takeout food.
Harley is our second family dog. Casey, our beautiful Golden Retriever girl, passed away at the age of 13. After a year of healing, we finally decided to adopt another dog from the Humane Society. One day, my mother saw a picture of Harley. We knew immediately that he was the perfect dog for us. We were right. We could not have asked for a better dog (other than Casey, of course. She was the sweetest and most beautiful girl dog).
Harley is a laid-back kind of guy. He's not very interested in running, he hates swimming, and getting him up for a walk can be like pulling teeth. What he lacks in athleticism he more than makes up for in personality, though. Harley is intelligent, empathetic, and affectionate. He can do simple tricks (sit, stay, etc), but what really makes him intelligent is how intuitive he is. He is extremely sensitive to peoples' emotions. If things are loud and hectic, he gets up and barks. If someone is sad, Harley knows just how to comfort them in his doggy way (usually by snorting, licking and cuddling).
We've had him for about three years now, and we could not be happier with him. Harley is the cuddliest, sweetest puppy dog boy I could ever imagine. We love him so much and we're so lucky to have him in our lives.
