When Parker first came into my life, I was sick with the stomach flu and feeling terrible, but the moment he was set into my lap ... all pain dissipated.
Now, before I even got Parker, I'd always wanted a husky, but my dad's ex-wife hated big dogs so they decided to compromise and got a "pomsky," a Pomeranian-Husky Mix. Only he didn't turn out as expected- Parker was supposed to grow only to be about 15 pounds (6.8 kg), he is now about 65 pounds (29.5 kg). That being said, six months later, when my dad and my stepmom got a divorce and they left Parker with us, not wanting a big dog.
That was one of the best things to ever happen to me.
At first, Parker wasn't very fond of me, he always chewed up my stuff and wouldn't come when I called. But after many treats, training classes and tons of love, he has become my best friend. Now it is unlikely to not see him by my side. He is my boyfriend's and my big baby.
Parker is a one and a half year old husky mix, to be honest, we aren't entirely sure he if he is a "Pomsky" or not. He is extremely headstrong, cuddly, adventurous and noisy. Being a husky means that his talking never ceases and his independent personality makes him quite the challenge to train. But since training and bonding with him, he has become an entirely different dog. Now he is always following me around, when before he wouldn't come near me at all.
Some of Parker's favorite past times include; being naughty, swimming in the pool, digging up plants, playing with his brother, smothering his mom, singing and giving his mom a heart attack by jumping the fence. His favorite foods are literally anything he can get his paws on, there have been times that he would knock a whole pizza off the counter and eat it before we could run downstairs in time. After that happening about three times, nothing is left out on the counter tops anymore haha.
Parker was my first ever husky, my second large dog ... And boy did I not know what I was getting myself into. Huskies are highly energetic dogs, something I wasn't used to with my lazy boxer. But his energy brightens up my day every time I walk through the door, he always has kisses and little songs readily available and those are the absolute best.
He is loyal, adventurous, loving and so silly. Him and his brother, Cash, get along fantastic. And I really could not have ever asked for a better dog.
