I've always had small dogs. Annie was living in a hoarder's home with three other dogs. They basically were starving. The owners threw food scraps from the table and they all had to fight over them. She used to be scared all the time that made her seem mean and definitely defensive, poor girl.
Now she is very happy and friendly to everyone she meets. It is amazing what love can do! We were curious, so got a DNA test. Her DNA test came back exactly 50% Chinese Crested, 31.9% Chihuahua and other assorted breeds.
She is six and a half years old. She was rescued four years ago by a close friend that unexpectedly passed away leaving her an orphan again. (The rescue shelter was left approx $300,000 in the will.)
This is - and has been - her forever home now for the last year and a half. She already knew me but was scared/mean to others, so of course I had to adopt her. With much love and attention she is now a little sweetie, very affectionate and sensitive. She does not like toys, stuffed animals, etc. She just loves me, and is my best friend!
