Pearl is our beautiful Chesapeake Bay Retriever. She is ten now, but this is a picture from when she was two years old. It is just our favorite picture of our girl ever, as it shows her golden eyes so well, and she is standing in the water, which is always her favorite place to be. Playing fetch is great, but playing fetch involving a lake or pond - that's even better, in her mind!
Chesapeake Bay Retrievers are the State Dog of Maryland, but she lives with us in upstate New York. where there are rivers and ponds and streams and creeks instead of the Atlantic Ocean, so all of her water is fresh water instead of salty, but she does not seem to mind. She is such a sweet girl, and loves nothing more than a good nap by the fire after a hard day of play. We love our Pearl, and think she is priceless!
