Our family adopted a puppy from a shelter about four and a half years ago. He was originally called Valdez, however we decided to change his name to Teddy. He is the perfect dog for our family by not being too big or too small, and has a lovable personality.
Teddy loves being able to run in the backyard as well as follow us everywhere around the house. We have taught him several tricks over the years. The tricks consist of sitting, staying, fetching, jumping through hoops, high-fives, shakes, and he is currently trying to learn how to skateboard.
When we first got him we assumed he might be a lap dog. But, Teddy decided to throw a curve-ball and be a mix of active and relaxed. He's the fastest runner we have ever laid eyes on. He's even able to beat an Australian Shepherd. Another surprise from him is that he is our little watch dog, which is a great benefit for where we moved. Then, when he's not playing, he's following us around. He's not the type to cuddle up on your lap, but he sure likes to stay close. So close that you might feel a head on your foot. We love him.
