Hi, my name is Toby and I was adopted from The Greater Huntsville Humane
Society. My previous owner passed away. His family was from out of state
and they didn't want me. They turned me into Huntsville Animal Services.
That is no place for a senior dog, so I was brought to the Humane
Society. They had me checked by the vet and put me up for adoption.
My new Mom vowed, absolutely no more dogs! She had too many. Especially
no male dog. She didn't want to deal with lifting the leg marking his
territory. Then she saw my picture on the Humane Society Facebook page
and her heart melted. She just had to have me.
She brought me to my new home to meet her other babies. There are two
fenced in yards, so we have plenty of room to run. Some of the pups
thought I was fine, others were not too happy with an addition to the
family.
Mom discovered that I am deaf. That's no big deal, she just has to make
sure I can see her so I know where we are going. Actually it turned out
to be kind of a blessing. Two of my new Chihuahua sisters are a bit
jealous. They bark at me, but since I can't hear them, it doesn't bother
me.
This is a pretty good place. The food dishes are always full. There are
several pet pillows around the house. We have a toy box. I have learned
where Mom keeps the treats and what is in the refrigerator.
At bed time, Mom passes out "special" treats to each one of us. We all
stand in line waiting to get our share. I think this will be a nice
home to spend my golden years.
