Mabel is our one-year-old Yorkie/Chihuahua/American Eskimo Dog mix. We call her our "empty nest dog." We hadn't planned to get a dog when our only child left for college, but when a co-worker showed me a photo of a friend's unexpected litter, we could not resist. Look at that face - how could we?
We call Mabel our six-pound security monitor. She zips around the house, patrolling the perimeter, making sure everything is in order. She loves to play fetch, (lovingly) chase our cat Oliver, and gives constant cuddles and kisses.
Mabel's hobbies include walks in the park, meeting new friends, and searching for crumbs on the kitchen floor. Every night she pretends to be asleep in our bed so she doesn't have to go into her crate and every day she is waiting at the top of the stairs when we return from work. Mabel gives and receives unconditional love - she is a joy!
