This
is Master Chief or Chief for short. Chief was listed on a lost pet
website as a stray. I had always wanted an English Bull Terrier and the
picture they had of his adorable face on the website just made me fall in
love with him. They say he is a English Bull Terrier/Pit Bull/Staffordshire
Terrier mix. I kept watch of his listing in case his previous owners had come
to claim him, but they never did. Instead, he was moved from one shelter to another.
Once he was moved to another shelter I decided to go meet him and see if he
would be fit for my lifestyle. He was a hyper, very excitable, goofy dog. At
70 pounds, he thought he was a tiny lap dog and tried sitting in my lap. I'm
not a very big person, at only 5'2". He tried his hardest, though. Everything
was in order and I adopted him the day I went to meet him. He is the biggest
cuddle bug ever. He loves to play with his toys and just cuddle every chance
he gets. We're still working on some basic commands, which is progressing
slowly. He'll do anything for a treat. He knows sit and we're working on lay
down. He is such goofy boy and there's never a dull moment with him.
I'm so glad I rescued him before he would have been stuck in the shelter for
awhile. Tons of Pit mixes are in the local shelters and not a lot get
adopted. He is a fine example of why people should not be afraid to adopt a
dog just because it has Pit Bull in it, and he is just a great all-around dog!
