River has a big personality! She thinks she's more human than dog. She's very smart. She can roll down the windows in the car, and knows how to act just the right amount of pathetic to get all of the attention. She's the best companion and her primary goal in life is to take a nap with everyone she meets. She's the biggest weirdo but she is so affectionate and playful, you just can't help but love her.
I decided to get her when I was living in my first apartment. I had looked at the Humane Society's website and had found this adorable Corgi mix named Lola that I had planned on adopting. But when I got there, she had already been taken home by someone else. I was heartbroken and I didn't want to settle but I decided to look around the shelter anyway. I found River in the far back corner just staring up at me with her big puppy dog eyes and I just knew I had to take her home with me.
Although she is a terrier, and they are usually "talkative," she is not that way. It's funny because I actually thought she was broken for the first few months I had her because she never made a sound. She finally barked at our neighbor one day and I decided I didn't trust the guy! She's a good dog!
