Let me tell you a little story to explain what makes Soldier special: In 2006 I used to live in the USA (El Paso, Texas). It was the time when I worked for the German Airforce. It was a fantastic time I will never forget. I firstly met Soldier when I visited the PetSmart of El Paso. The "Pet Guardian Angels" were there and offered a lot of dogs for adoption. As I lived alone (my family had stayed in Germany) I decided to have a look at the dogs. After a while I suddenly saw a cage with a dog. It was him He lay on the floor in the cage and didn't react to the people around him.
Some of the visitors waved with their hands in front of him and called "hey doggy doggy" but he didn't react at all. But then he saw me and suddenly raised his head and looked at me. It was a really special moment for me. Why this reaction? I just looked at him and I was more than 10 meters away? Anyway I walked towards him, showed him my hand and he licked my fingers. That was the moment when I knew that I found the dog I was searching for. I adopted Soldier and we went home.
But what makes him special now? Soldier is very sensitive and we know each other. During my two years in the USA I experienced a hard and lonely time with bad colleagues. Sometimes when I went home I was sad and there was no family to meet me. I had no possibility to talk with them about my problems, but Soldier was there. He cheered me up, he licked my hands, he barked at me and made me laugh, he slept close to my bed and he always gave me the feeling I was not alone. He is and was my special friend.
When my time in the USA ended Soldier traveled along with me back to Germany and now he lives here, together with me and my wife. Soldier is well behaved and likes photo shoots. So we often take some photos when we're out.
